Custom Injection Molding
Diverse plastic injection molding capabilities
Experts in the plastic molding industry since 1973
Plastic injection molding is a highly efficient and versatile manufacturing process that is widely used across various industries to produce a wide range of plastic products and components. Agapé can take a part from part concept to mass production and support every step of the manufacturing process.
Key aspects of the plastic injection molding process include:
- Mold design. The injection mold process begins with the design of a mold, which is typically made of steel or aluminum and consists of two halves: the cavity and the core.
- Material preparation. Plastic resin pellets or granules are fed into a hopper and melted in a heating chamber to form a molten plastic material. The material is then injected into the mold cavity under high pressure using a screw or plunger mechanism.
- Injection. The molten plastic material is injected into the mold cavity through a nozzle or sprue, filling the cavity and taking the shape of the mold.
- Cooling. Once the mold cavity is filled, the molten plastic material is allowed to cool and solidify, taking on the shape of the mold.
- Ejection. After the plastic has cooled and solidified, the mold opens, and the newly formed part is ejected from the mold cavity using ejector pins or plates.
What is plastic injection molding?
Plastic injection molding is a manufacturing process used to produce a wide range of plastic parts and components by injecting molten plastic material into a mold cavity under high pressure.
